Isn’t it embarrassing when you get the date wrong for an opening?

I went down to Paper Restaurant last night for my friends Weng Wei and Rania Ho’s evening of paper cut-outs and projections, only to find that it had happened the previous night. The paper cut-outs were still there, so I was able to get some idea of what the event was like.

There’s a certain child-like fantasy about the piece that’s quite attractive.

So as not to disappoint visitors from Once with the lack of information about Chinese roads on this blog, here’s some photos that I took on my recent visit to Beijing.

APT Gallery, Deptford

Seung Ah is a friend from Goldsmiths, who completes her MA in Interactive Media this year. She is currently showing with fellow student Joe Stevens at the APT Gallery in Deptford, which is not too far away from where I live. It was a beautiful, warm evening last night so I walked down to see them at the opening.

The major personal event of the past month is that I’ve fallen in love.

For a while I had been very close to one of the girls on my course – we had chatted a lot, met for coffees etc. – it was very natural. Without going into too much detail, it all blossomed a few weeks ago into something much more.

Her name is Shi, she’s from China and she’s very precious to me. I love her very much and I am very, very happy.
